Purchasing a new machine ( made the deal almost two weeks ago) and was told today it would not be delivered until next week because they have to time the fuel pump. The machine is brand new - and was purchased off the lot- already set up and in line with all the other machines to ogle at. I did order 3rd function, backhoe and a bunch of other implements ( backhoe and frame is installed as of seeing the machine today)

Far be it from me to call BS but…. BS? If you can’t get to it because of employee issues, parts slow to arrive, ect I get it but is he making up the pump timing thing to buy more time? I’ll stop short of saying I’m not an idiot - because I truly don’t know if this could be a legit reason. I can handle delays as long as you are honest with me. Maybe I’m overreacting but I though I’d as here and get some thoughts.

Thanks!

Didn’t that model have a bulletin about fuel pump issues? Sounds like they are correcting it before you pick it up.
One week delay? Are you going to cancel from them and then try to find an exact model at a different dealer then wait again for it to be ready?
Not that long ago people were waiting 6+ months if not a year for equipment and/or implements.

They're fixing it before you pick it up so you don't have to deal with it.

Not sure about the recall- that’s why I asked the question. I appreciate the replies-

I don’t intend to cancel and if it sound like I’m whining about not getting my machine when they said I would have it that’s not the case. This is a Local dealer close to me who said it would be ready a week earlier. The response to the question about the delay was unexpected so I came to the forum to ask the question. Way to make someone feel welcome…

I notice you have a total of two posts, they’re both in this thread, and you joined today. Welcome to the forum.

As others have noted, it’s possible as they were readying it for delivery they noted they hadn’t completed the TSB for the cold start smoking and that caused a legitimate unanticipated delay. Could be a BS excuse, but probably legit.

When you take delivery, post a few pics. We like pictures. 🙂

I do believe there is a TSB on that model.
They can not perform the TSB until the tractor is sold.
My understanding is the TSB is not a simple fix either, it takes some work to get it correct and I would imagine that only a handful of techs that can do the fix and get it right.
So I think you need to cut them a little slack as it sounds like they are being straight with you.

I don't think anyone on here is said or done anything out of line, they are just giving you honest insight.
