When I've bought aftermarket, I just ground the wider flange on the ball off. They were too wide also.

Not sure what TSC, etc. get for them anymore, but Kubota is getting quite proud of the OEM.

I’d tell the BIL he owes you a toplink. If he has any character at all he’ll apologize and gladly buy you a new one.

He is being a stand up guy and covering the cost of the replacement. I am just trying to identify the best drop in replacement.

seen on here multiple times on the b’s (and assuming lx would be similar) where the rops is folded and top link will hit it when 3pt is raised
Never fold ROPS on my B, explaining why I was unawares of interference.

Did you purchase through e-parts? I am always cautious of places I have never heard of.
In my post above I explained that I had bent the top link on my B2650, and used the e-parts replacement. As I mentioned, it was an exact match, down to the paint color. . I also talked about why you can't replace the threaded ends as a stand alone part.
