My dad was wondering what caused the three rings on the vinyl front seat of his 59 Ford Custom and I had no clue.
On a different note, during the early days of the Space Shuttle and people still smoked a lot, there were 120 volt AC lighters like that attached to the walls and plugged into regular outlets inside the Vehicle Assembly Building. The idea was that lighters and matches were not allowed since a fire might cause the solid rocket boosters to ignite inside the building and we had only three seconds to get out of our offices.:poop: But smoking was OK🤯. it was hilarious to watch the smokers trying to light up a cigarette in their mouths and get shocked at the same time by the lighters. Some of them quit smoking. :ROFLMAO:
Most of the places I went (including the VEB at Redstone) had 12 Volt supplies for safety. That was late 80’s and 90’s. The last place I went that still had them was the ANCDF in Anniston where our government burned all the chemical weapons that we never had (except the thousands stored in nearby bunkers since WWII). I still smoked then. But security policy was so tight in that place that I couldn’t even carry my pocket knife, and the guards didn’t like my mechanical pencil. I just got in the habit of emptying my pockets and bought a box of #2 wooden pencils to keep in the truck so I didn’t have to explain myself to anyone with less education and an automatic weapon with a sign behind them that says “Use of Deadly Force is Authorized “ Then again, this was a place that destroyed surplus and defective ordinance. There’s something inherently wrong with freezing a bomb, crushing it, and then incinerating it.

The most impressive thing I’ve seen in my career was a 10000 gallon Xylene (what’s distilled off gasoline to make it safer) launch and go straight up out of sight. My biggest worry was, ya know, that thing is gonna come back down and it won’t be pretty.

My wife keeps nagging me about drinking too much brake fluid and thinks I have an addiction.
I keep telling her it's no problem and I can stop any time I want.
