Some genius bean counter decided instead of attaching to a drain plug in the block where you could get too, they could save $0.30 a unit by installing the line with a banjo fitting directly behind the injection pump.
To remove and reinstall that banjo fitting to replace the oil line, you either have to remove the injection pump which is a major ordeal including timing the injection pump on reinstall, or you need the hands the size of a 10yo girls
I can just barely reach that banjo bolt with a wrench and a pinky. That's with greasing my hand so it would slide in behind the injection pump, and am able to remove the bolt and line. But I can not get the banjo bolt restarted.
This sent me wandering around the office checking people's hand sizes to help me out with the repair
Our ops manager is the only one in the building with hands small enough to get that banjo bolt restarted
I asked the service manager at our local deutz shop what they did to replace that line. His reply, was they give all those repairs to the one female mechanic he has. She's the only one with hands small enough
