Hello everyone,

I have a D1105 about 2500hrs. At 1200rpm the motor shakes, at 1400 the shake becomes more violent at 1600 starts to smooth out. No missing or engine noise.
Done the usual new filters, changed the engine mounts 3 where stuffed no difference. Ran a diesel purge thru it no difference. Took the injectors out and cleaned, they were consistently the same a little carbon but not sticking or clogged no difference. I do have a fine stream of air bubbles in the return line that seems consistent at any RPM.

Hoping someone may have had this problem.

TIA Rick

I would guess cylinder compression or injectors. I don't know too much, other than you really need a tester to see if volume and timing of injectors are functioning properly (worn or sticking).

A fine stream of air bubbles in the return could suggest a leak on the suction side. Does your D1105 have a mechanical fuel pump below the injection pump?

The injection pump could be sticking, causing the shaking around 1200-1400 rpm, but smooths out about it. I just worked on a D1005's injection pump. One of the needles was sticking in its bore due to a fine layer of surface rust. Cleaned it out and now it works perfect. I wouldn't suggest taking it apart if you have no knowledge of it though. A few springs and things can and will jump out.

Try running seafoam in the next tank of fuel.
