Curtis Hard Cab in Summer

It was a few degrees below 0F this morning with more snow tonight. I am getting kind of done with winter so I called the pool company and scheduled the pool opening. Maybe that will help. I felt better anyway.

While still dreaming of summer, I was wondering if there was anyone who removed more than just the cab doors in summer? I have some woods work to do and the cab would never survive the branches. Ive got the install manual, I'd follow that and remove whats easy?

Can't help you with yours . Mine [homemade] comes off in one piece 2 bolts and 2 pins . Take mine off for the summer as well.
The pins are the last to pull off .My cab tips up backwards over onto a sawhorse .then place a quick frame under the cab right against the fenders pull pin ,move tractor away. Then special frame goes under the cab and it's let down onto this frame thats mounted on a pallet . Secure it all down and move it where ever I want with pallet forks on the tractor.

used to remover/install truck caps all the time...
4 eyebolts(1 per corner), 7:1 rope hoist...about 10 minutes.

OK, a cab will have a wiring connector to disconnect and a few nuts/bolts.. but should be 'easy' , unless the tree starts swaying ....

Last summer I didn't remove the cab doors, and one day, I accidentally disturbed a wasp or hornet nest in the ground. They swarmed the car and not one got in to sting me. On my old tractor, I had removed the doors, and the wasps made a nest in the corner of the roof. I got on the tractor and started to do something when a wasp flew by me. I stopped and looked around the cab and saw the nest. Shut the tractor down and walked away to get the can of wasp spray. My wife asked me where the nest was, and I told her to go back inside the house. Wrong thing to say to a woman, but she insisted on watching what I was doing. I sprayed the nest from about 20 feet away, and they came flying out. I retreated to the garage, but she didn't follow me and got stung a few times. A hard lesson to learn...

A little late to the post but I have a Curtis cab and the first year I got it I planned to remove it in the summer......until I discovered the shade it provided was WAY better than running it removed. I simply take off the doors. If I get into the woods I simply remove the clear "window" panels that are held in place with velcro. Now the windshield......that's a story for another day. Don't let a limb fool you into thinking its going to push out of the way with the FEL.
