For the second time since we built here about 34 years ago, the creek went dry. The last time was years ago in the middle of a Summer drought. I remember walking in the dry bed with a weedeater in sneakers and kicking up dust. Last week I took the opportunity to walk the bed with a weedeater for (hopefully) the last trim till Spring. I have a number of different trimmer options, but the easiest is to walk in the creek reaching out/up.
The first time it went dry everything else was "crunchy dry" and brown. This time, the grass still has some color left. The drought map for the county shows us to be on the border between moderate and abnormally dry.
First pic is how it normally looks (yep, could use a trim - just like normal).
