Hello-ALL.
I just bought a new "after-market" rear blade and would like to know how much weight I need in front as a counter balancing weight?? The blade attachment weights about 300 pounds. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Thanks, BILLS

I'm not sure that you need any weight. When you are using the blade, all the blade weight is on the ground. Your tractor should be heavy enough to lift a 300 pound blade without taking much weight off of the front end. If it were mine, I would use it, and see how it behaves. If you feel like you need weight then, you could either load the front tires with fluid, or buy weights. But until then, if it isn't needed, why add weight to your tractor? Although the weight is marginal, it does add stress to bearings, spindles, etc.

Your tractor weighs more than my 7100, and I used a 6' blade without adding weight to the front end.

Thanks Hodge.
I tried having the blade on while mowing the grass but the weight of the blade causes the lift cylinder to slowly leak down. And while the blade is up the front wheels hardly touch the ground.
