Well, I think I may have a costly repair on my hands....I will try to describe what happened as best I can, as I am new to the forum and have very little knowledge of the various parts, etc. I have added pictures to my second post below.....
I was mowing today with my L3830 and backed up way too fast and ran the bushhog wheel into a felled tree. The resulting blow caused one of the hydraulic cylinder arms to come completely out of its housing and two pieces of cast metal on either side of the top section of the hydraulic (PTO) pump cracked and came off. I now can barely get the front loader up and down so I'm concerned that I may have damaged the pump internally. Could the loss of pressure be simply from the RAM arm coming out of the cylinder housing?

Any thoughts on how big of a repair job this will be? I just want to go to the dealer as prepared as I can.......Thanks for any assistance!

Re: Pictures added

Unless I'm way off base that is just part of the housing. The hyd pump is hooked to the engine probably on the right side about mid way up toward the front. It should have steel lines running to it. With the ram being jerked out of the cylinder it was obviously over extended. I'm wandering if the pieces that were broken off were some kind of stops that limit the travel of the 3pt lift. I'm not really familiar with your model so that was only a guess. Keep us posted.

Bulldog, you are probably correct about the pump location. I have very little knowledge of part location.
I guess my biggest concern is the fact that the bucket on the front has very little hydraulic power now and will barely go up. Even though the ram that is out of the cylinder on the back of the tractor, I guess the two problems are related. Could it simply be that the hydraulic system has lost pressure due to the ram being out?

I'm not a mechanic or anything like that. Just a farmer so you will have to forgive me if I tell you wrong. I believe those to cylinders are lift assist for the 3pt. If I understand how they work I think there purpose is to help the internal 3 pt system to lift more weight. It sounds like to me there was some internal damage done to your 3pt hitch and probably is letting the hyd fluid bypass straight thru the system. It's causing a loss of pressure and therefore not letting your loader work properly. Maybe Service Dept Vic, Eserv or some of the more qualified people here at OTT will jump in and help you out. I have never had to split a Kubota tractor apart so I have never seen the inside working of the 3pt lift. I have been into a IH and a Massey before but not a Kubota. I'm only assuming the Kubota lift system is about like the others. The IH I worked on had a metal line cracked internally and it caused a loss of hyd pressure and nothing would hardly work and the massey had a "o" ring bad and did the same. Sorry for the lack in experiance in this and maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure one of the experts will jump in here and help you better.
