Anyone out there have a canopy mounted fan for cooling? I've seen some that are integrated into the canopy, but am interested in one to mount under the canopy. Temps and humidity are close to intolerable here in N Florida some days.
Any thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

A fan is going to do nothing for the humidity but I'm sure you'll feel a little better with a breeze on you!

Any 12V clamp fan can do that and you don't even need to mount it to the canopy. You can find them at about any auto-parts store or Wal-Mart style store.

If you are in a hot dry area, a mister with a fan is a god-send. Hot wet areas... well you need AC and that means enclosed cab and unit.

If you would really like to move some serious air, mount a electric radiator fan to the bottom of the canopy.;)
Just make sure it a pull type or your canopy will get real cool but you won't .
Serious air movement. :)

Real serious air movement! :D

Now those are some serious air moving fans North Idaho Wolfman! I'm taking delivery of a M5140 next week. The dealer mentioned to me that they do a lot of fan installs for cooling the operator. IIRC the fan he uses is 12" which should move a good deal of air. I told 'em to do it. When I get it I'll take some dimensions and photos.

Look up industrial Cool suits. There is a suprising number of things out there available and prices have been dropping as it becomes more common.

Got a chance to use the new M5140. It's been 90's with high humidity and the canopy fan has worked great. It looks like an electric radiator fan, somewhere around 14" or so. The dealer did a great job of fabricating the braces to hold the fan on the canopy braces. All wiring was covered with protection cover and they put a toggle switch just to the right of the instrument panel. I would HIGHLY recommend this setup for anyone putting in long hours during the summer that don't have the luxury of a cab.
