I have a 2023 BX2380-AU. The manual says to flush and replace coolant every 2 years. Is this really necessary (and what is the risk of extending this on a low hr tractor)

I know what I am "supposed to do".....BUT......

I'm running on year 4, and still haven't done mine.

It's one of those things that is so low on my "priority list", it just never seems to get done.

I know...I know....I'm the only one who procrastinates...blah...blah...

maybe I'll get to it this week....;);):cautious::cautious:🤫

EDIT: BTW the primary risk is "corrosion" I think......and premature failure of the water pump????

Routine coolant replacement is important for long term durability of cooling system components.

Though the freeze protection properties of anti freeze last indefinitely, the corrosion protection properties do not.

For long term protection replace coolant in accordance with the recommendations in your Operator's Manual. DO NOT flush with chemical radiator flush products. Simply flush with distilled water and replace as much coolant as possible with new anti freeze and distilled water. DO NOT use tap water.

Probably can extend coolant life to 4 years or so once you have replaced existing coolant with modern extended life anti freeze.

There is zero reason to replace modern extended life anntifreeze every 2 years unless you just enjoy doing it. Older IAT is a different story.

Buy some test strips, check your coolant annually, and drain/fill when the numbers start to degrade. I tend to land in the 3-5 year window depending on use.

I bought antifreeze test strips from Amazon. They give you an indication of your anti freeze health and whether it may need changing in your tractor and other vehicles.
