So I'm thinking about a new Carry Gun, a little shop I go in has a Kimber Micro 9mm and it calls out my name and wants to come home with me.
Help anyone have one/experience with them. I'm seeing good and bad in reviews.

I would think that the Ruger Max-9 would be a much better buy in a very small CC pistol.

I carry a Ruger LC9s now, I like it but not in love with it. I'd love to have a 1911 chassis to go with my other ones.
I have the original LC-9, and find it to be OK.
I really prefer my Taurus G2C over the Ruger.
A much better feel.

I had one, and wish that I hadn't sold it. Mine ran great. I didn't sell it because of problems, just bored and wanted the next gun.
It's low on round count, but it is small, carries easy, and it's a decent caliber for how small it is. I also REALLY like my Sig P365. Also small, easy to carry, and a decent round count (12+1).
Anyway, I'd buy another Micro 9 without apprehension.

Yea, so I'm the Communist State of NY and can only have 10 rounds in anything. So 7 I can handle.
Thanks for your input, that's what I needed.

So I'm thinking about a new Carry Gun, a little shop I go in has a Kimber Micro 9mm and it calls out my name and wants to come home with me.

I worked for Kimber for 6-1/2 years and most of their pistols are hit and miss! (no pun intended). Kimber is not a top tier manufacturer of pistols as so many think. Their rifles are much better than their pistols.

I carry a Ruger KLCR every day that I bought in 2012 when I worked for Remington. We used to buy lots of firearms for ammunition development and testing, and I was very impressed with the Ruger KLCR so bought two of them.

I recently bought a Hellcat Pro and have a holster and magazine carrier on the way. I'm going to see how I like it for concealed carry.

A SIG P365, a Springfield Hellcat or a S&W shield are all good choices, and much better than any Kimber option. I still have a Kimber 1911 Tactical Entry II model that I bought in 2011 and shot in competition. It's very much modified with only the frame and slide being Kimber parts, and it runs really well.

I have a similar SigSauer p-238. Never jambs, unlike the Kimber. Same M1911 design. Check them out.

Edit P-938, not 238

The micro replaced the Kimber Solo which was a disaster, but few at Kimber had any love for either.

That’s what steered me to the Sig. I love the M1911 design and the Sig is accurate and reliable.

Yeah, I contended with that several years ago. Welcome to New Yorkistan..😳

Lacking S-A experience, some of the 1911 weren’t very handy for a lefty. My Model 29 doesn’t care what hand is holding it, but doesn’t carry well with an 8 3/8….😉

I ended up with a Springfield XDS in 45, so I’m no help in your venture.

I am curious what you settle on. I’ve been considering a 9.

Thanks! I needed that wake up. I'll look at Sig's. My 80+ year old 1911's aren't made to carry, but I do love them for the simple function and they are just dam 1911's!

I have been through 3 Kimber's and like the man said hit and miss, I sent 2 of them back for repair they said OK good to go, nope wouldnt load or stove pipe or wouldnt chamber,, so they all went south,, maybe the new ones are a lot better I dont know. I picked up a Tauarus 1911 for a truck gun, and I have to say other than the gold cup, eats anything you stick in it. Maybe take a look a the Sigs 365 s a nice little beasty, and the P320C 17 rounds and has never failed me. But Kimber, MHO is you pays your money and takes your chances

I wear overalls for work. Carry a LC-9 at all times. No complaints.
When in "street clothes", I carry a Berretta FS-92 in a Crossbreed Supertuck holster.

My two go -to's are Sig P365 and Sig P938.

If you like the 1911 style in 9 mm carry, check out the Sig 938. Mine has been flawless for many years.

Trjicon night sights 6, 7 and 12 round mags...good to go. They come in all kinds of flavors.

Top one is P365

Bottom P938

Both roughly same size, P365 is a tad heavier with 11 rounds total for flush magazine. I also carry a Ruger SR1911 lightweight commander in good old 45acp when I'm feeling frosty.

Good day.

For me, if I am going to wear it has to be comfortable to wear…and so then it sort of depends on what I am doing in terms of what I am strapped with. Normally I prefer a 3” 1911…seems to tuck in nicely on my no longer svelte profile, but it is comfortable…I can wear even when sitting in car buckled up. So normally it’s thats what a carry However if I am sporting shorts and a t shirt then have a P938 which slips into a holder that has profile like a wallet. I also use the P938 if spousal unit and I are on the bicycles…it slips right into the into box on the top tube. I like mine riding in a Ritchie (Amherst, NY) holster…I have a selection of them for different wear cases.

Of course that was before the boating accident. 🥃

How do you carry? Can you hide a kimber without printing? This is the foist question I ask myself.

In the winter I carry a Desert Eagle .429 in a chest rig.
