Anyone here have any experience with Skid Steers? Shut up and buy Kubota or look at other offerings?

Currently looking at SLV75.

I dont know much about them, I would however think every brand has problems and shining points,, First oof you need to figure out what your going to do, how much you have to spend and the size of the beast. Bob Cat. Kubota, Deere any and all will work well just need to figure out what you want to do

I cannot help with the brand choice since I've only fun Bobcat brand.

Only thing I will contribute is, ALWAYS wear your seatbelt. These things can do lots of work fast but since most people run them fast, they can roll pretty easily too.

We have Bobcat's at work and I have a New Holland at home both are good machines I never operated a Kubota Skid Steer but would guess they too are good machines. I looked at them when I bought my New Holland but they were out of my price range.

What Bobcats and New Hollands do you use? I have heard the new hollands suck but no real experience to validate.

Palmerton, Pennsylvania,
I have run many different brands of skid steers. Only brand i can recall not running is a kubota. Cat is hands down imo the way to go from what ive run.

I will say tho, a fellow i was talking with traded his 6cat skidders in on kubotas last yr. He told me kubota is on another level.

Bobcat has an option for Mitsubishi or Kubota engines. I've had them at my shop with both in them. The takeuchi we had had a Kubota engine in it. So it at least gives you three Kubota powered models :D

I haven't had any experience with Kubota models. Bobcat was kind of ho-hum on the ones's that i've operated. Did a good job and run as predicted.

The takeuchi we had at the shop was pretty insane :D But I think that one had a few more ponies then the bobcat we had of similar size. You really had to watch it in close quarters with throttle position cause that baby was a rocket at full throttle.

Both are pretty reliable :)

Is it unreasonable to tell these guys to bring me out a machine to play on?

If I hear "We designed this as a TRUE Track loader...." one more time, I will vomit. (Apparently everyone thinks that everyone else's Track Loader was designed a skid steer and then converted.)

I am also perplexed at which lifting style to go with along with size of machine that is not too big and heavy, yet will run power attachments.
