My L3240 turns over but will not start. Tractor was running fine when parked, but would not start 3 days later. After about 10 seconds of the ignition being on a "code 20" error message appears. Closest Kubota dealer had me look for broken or loose wires to any of the safety switches ..... found nothing. Finally broke down and hauled it to the dealer's service department. They are still looking but seem to think the onboard computer may be fried. The engine turns over even when the failsafe switches (like PTO engaged) should lock it out. There was a bad storm blow through, so I am thinking there was a possibility of a lightning strike. Anyone seen this kind of thing before? I am afraid of the $$$$ impact when the Kubota service department says "we've never seen anything quite like this before.

A rat can be worse than any lightning strike.......see if there are any chewed wires, those rodents can cause havoc in a couple of hours

No rat/mice damaged wiring issues. Wiring was gone over pretty thoroughly.

When the service manager is referring to the computer, I assume he means any and all of the microprocessor - controlled electronic system. The bulk of these brains I believe is located in the dash display module. He is still looking and scratching his .......... head.

Update:
The onboard computer was indeed fried by lightning and had to be replaced. All settings for safety switches had to be re-programmed. Up and running normally again.

I believe I will move it into the barn anytime I hear thunder.
