Hi, Have a M9540. My fan comes on even when the fan speed control is turned off, can give a wack right below the climate control panel on the fan side to turn it on and off. So I am assuming there is some loose connection or failing circuit in the control panel.
My question is how do i get to the inner workings of this control panel? If i could just get the faceplate off without breaking that would be great.

I believe it is like my M9000 and the roof comes off to access. Look around the perimeter of the headliner. See of there are short and long bolts. The long bolts remove the room. Pretty easy job.

Look at the following taken from the WSM. This may be the w=switch you are talking about as a guess.
It looks like the switch assembly just pries out.
