We have a very small woodstove. I try to clean it daily but sometimes it'll go a couple of days.

We do the Wolfman thing, Pellet stove but in our case it's a bio fuel unit so we burn corn and pellets. Get my corn for free so it's very cheap heat.

I have found that the grass growing in patched in the drive way, don't last long if the ashes are dumped in a pile and left to winter over. 2 years later it still has not grown back,,makes me happy

You all could be throwing out something of value if you are into gardening. We always spread the ash into the garden or flower bed but my mother was the expert on which plants it would help. I do not remember.

Ours goes into our compost pile.
