Here's my sawhaul(s). The big one has a compartment for a gallon of chainsaw gas or snacks.

I throw mine on a receiver hitch foldup basket it's great to haul the saw and everything else I need with it.

Until one day you think, "Hey I should move that little pile of dirt out of the way" and then feel sick when you see an orange thing, your saw, sticking out of the dirt you moved. This was a brain cramp.

That's like Groundhog Day for me. More than once the saws (plural) have been dumped because I forgot I put them in the bucket. So far I have not buried or run over them.

I used to strap the saw on the ballast box but now use a SawHaul on my L2501. This frees up the top of the ballast box for carrying other stuff like loppers, tow chain, along with shovel etc.




I need to buy one for the Deere.
That little 14" battery saw on the box is as handy as a pocket in a shirt!

I mounted the fenders from an old Roper lawn tractor upside down on my BB.
to make a great tool hauler

I did the same thing with my old Roper fenders but I mounted it on my box blade.
When I am seriously logging with the winch on the 3 ph, I hang the saws from hooks on the winch screen and bungee them down.

I did basically the same thing with a few scraps of wood and I had to buy a threaded rod and a hand full of nuts. I don't carry my saw all the time. Only when it will be needed and I haven't had any problems carrying the saw this way. I think you will like it. A lot better than shoveling your saw out of a pile of dirt.

Thanks for posting this! I like the wood aspect of it rather than rigging something up and welding etc.

I am just getting back into firewooding and tried in the bucket and on my lap recently. Neither are a good plan; especially with a 24" blade!

I bought a 1x6" and two u bolts and put this together in about 30 Minutes. Having used it for a while, it will get hit by brush if I'm going through tight areas. ( rare on my property ), However, it can be mounted to the ROPS at any angle or location. and I'm in it for <$15.

Larry that's nice and simple. If you reverse how you have it mounted on the ROPS the power head of the saw would not be sticking out, just a bit of the bar.

But with an implement on for ballast I think that would make access more difficult.

Thanks for posting pics - I like it too. While I am not wild about the powerhead out either, that is probably how I will have to go. I think the ROPs location may be best for my purposes. I need something that will keep the BH seat area clear. Yours does that, the "price is right" and I have a variety of saws. BTW: Check out arboristsite.com

Some previous threads have some nice solutions that bolt or more rigorously mount to the tower and I definitely do not want to do that. I am also running mirrors in that location and tried to wipe one off in close brush firewooding last weekend (lots of woods & scrub on my property)

I looked at a lot of options. It's important to me that I can easily access the tool. I will relocate it if necessary but for now, this seem like a good solution.
