I think the mailings and on-line responses MIGHT keep somebody from knocking on your door...I’m not a big fan of folks knocking on my door....[emoji15]

Yup, the only problem I have ever had with the Census people was when I was building my Cabin. "She" arrived wanting to know how many people would live there and I said "none". Well we went "round and round" arguing about why I would build such without planning to live there. My business, my time, and my money, but she wasn't buying it. I told her to have me arrested and lock me up but the answer would be the same. She actually came back several times because I know that she had something to fill out but could not get the answers to go in the blanks. She never got anything from me except my original answer. It's now 25 years later and no one has ever lived there, but it surely is nice to have a get away on my property. (Looking at the pictures reminds me that I need to take some pictures as it is today.)

Pictures of the original build and then while the 16"X20" living room addition was in progress but not finished.

I didn't get nothing either but I figure some of that has to do with the fact that the road crew pulled my mailbox up and threw it into the ditch.

I know that story myself.... Had to replace my post and box after they decided to cit the berms and tossed outs the same way. Got out the 3 point auger and drilled a hole, set the 6 x in and 3 bags of QwickCrete and then added a large boulder next to it.

The foreman came by and reamed me for it. Said if they hit the boulder with their snowplow, I'd be held responsible to which I replied, when was the last time you plowed the road? Seems to me that I plow it and I can see the rock.

Get outta here...

Mail man cleaned mine out last week with their mirror [emoji14] Knocked the post loose and twisted the bottom so the door wouldn't close.

A-hole didn't say anything or leave a note. Got to talking with my retired neighbor and they said the mailman's mirror was hanging by the wires.

I'll pick up a new PT 4x4 post to mount in on. Wonder what he will do when he finds a bill for the new post and an hours labor in the mailbox :D

5 minutes with a pair of pliers got the box back into shape where you can close the door.

I solved mail box issues a few years back when it was a sport to hit them with baseball bats or hedge apples.

Remember those cigarette ad signs that had two supports with heavy springs so they'd flop in the wind? I scrounged a couple them and used one. I mounted the mail box on a piece of 1" pipe (flange on top with wooden base) and above ground level welded the spring to the pipe, then another couple of feet of pipe to bury.

I don't really know if it works, but the mailbox is still there without damage! Maybe that generation took up a new hobby.

To stay on track, I did get an envelope about Census a coupe of days ago.
