Cat V80C Forklift service manual needed

Can anyone help me? I am looking for a service manual for a Cat V80C forklift.
Hopefully a PDF or a paper manual in Canada.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, anything cat is found to be quite precious. Not to mention being a forklift will make it even more so. Many years ago i -hold that thought! I just remembered my nephew works at toromont. I would like to try and source som info for you. Specify machine and trouble you are having, maybe i can pick his brain. Hes not in forklifs but maybe there is a chance.

Thanks Tooljunkie. V80C, 4 cyl Perkins propane engine. That is all the info, there are no tags or numbers on the unit. The transmission is very sluggish, but the lift is very responsive & lifts it's capacity easily. The steering pump is also very noisy & slow to respond. There is a spin on transmission filter in the line to the rad. Is there another filter for the hydraulic pump & power steering?

I was watching a show last weekend where they clean out garages in exchange for keeping what they find.

In a box, they found about 10 or 15 service manuals for various pieces of heavy equipment. Thinking they were worthless, they had their on-site appraiser verify that before they tossed them. HOLY MOLY were they valuable. I think they valued the stack at $2500!

I know most forklifts share hydraulic fluid for all systems, but im not sure if this is the same with cat. Generally the trans is the hydraulic pressure source for everything.

Sluggish or slow?
Had one a while back wouldnt move. Was a valve in brake system, that engaged creeper gear for moving slow. It was rebuilt with incorrect parts.

When you step on the forward or reverse pedal it sits still then lurches & pulses forward or reverse lurching then going slow in a repeating this pattern, but the lift works fine.

No news on access to manuals or repair info. I have a feeling that it will be like trying to get KFC's secret recipe.

A good friend shudders at the thought of dealing with cat for anything.
I wish i could do better for you.

275 us for the manual isnt all that ridiculous, if it helps solve your issue. Compare that to their shop rate and its a bargain.


Your description of problem seems like low fluid. Or its sucking air.

Thanks again for looking into my problem Tooljunkie. I am hoping it is as simple as an air leak causing cavitation. 275 US will be 550 by the time it gets to me here in Manitoba, not wort it.

Well we found the problem. The inching valve linkage was out of adjustment. We did a little trial & error adjusting & we got it working. Now just the power steering pump.
