I have had no issue prior to yesterday connecting hydraulic hose from grapple to tractor. I am aware of how to release pressure before connecting. Turn on key and move joystick up hold 3 seconds release. This has worked every time with no issue. When I tried yesterday I couldn’t connect.
I feel like the pressure may be in the hoses of the grapple and not hoses coming from tractor but I don’t know that other than a gut feeling. Is there a way to release hydraulic pressure in the unconnected hoses of the grapple? I used it a couple of weeks ago and no problem. I tried a second time yesterday and still can not connect

You'll have either push in the ball at the bottom of the connectors or loosen them at the threaded connecton. WEAR GLOVES and EYE Protecton and point them away from you when doing it.

the pressure is on the grapple side, push them in on the grapple end.

Use the same procedure on the implement as the tractor. "I am aware of how to release pressure before connecting."

If you decide to loosen the fittings to relieve the pressure, make sure that the O ring has not been dislodged inside before retightening the joint or it can be caught and damaged by the threads.

Prob the grapple hydraulics warmed up since last used and built up pressure in the grapple cylinders. Cover connector end with a rag (and wear protective gear) then tap the end of the grapple connectors with a non-marring tool, which should release the fluid pressure as a little fluid will escape into the rag. Repeat on one end of each grapple hydraulic circuit. Also release the tractor's end by moving the stick through all positions. It'll connect easily after that.

I lift my boom and dump the grapple enough to take the pressure off the grapple cylinders before connecting the hydraulic lines. And don't leave the grapple outside parked in the sun.
