Canning jars and lids

Canning salmon for the first time this year. Lots of salmon this year, and I have enough smoked. So I wanted to try canning. We'll see how it tastes, but no issues getting jars or lids.

My wife cans salmon and it tastes good. I don't eat much fish but the little I do eat is from her canned stock and it is palatable.

For short term food storage you can use beeswax if yoiu don't have any lids. My wife does that for canning jam and some of her garden veggies.

Paraffin wax works as well. I have eaten lots of paraffin opening a new jar of jam . However, it is not useful for things that require pressure canning.

I've had someone else's years ago... hot sauce. Hot sauce works wonders on it.
