Hi, newbie to this forum, and I hope someone can give me a little info.

We have an L2350 2wd, bought used about 3 mo ago. Today as I went to mow I heard an odd creak-clunk, and decided I'd better take a closer look at things before bush-hogging a hillside.

Glad I did!

Right wheel

Left wheel

I have the bucket down & the wheels slightly off the ground so I can move them, and I can't push the right one flush (I'm not very big though). I hear grinding as I wiggle it.

So, what's given way, how hard will it be to get parts, and is this something that my husband and/or I can do with decent directions or should it go to the shop?

Thanks for any input you can give me!

Oh, and does anyone know a good trustworthy repair place in the SE TN/N Ga area?

Thanks!

Welcome to OTT SarahJ,

If you are wanting a tractor mechanic then try Tag Equipment. They are on Cherrokee Blvd right before you go thru the tunnel into Red Bank. Family owner and operated. They have helped me out several times and are a good bunch of guys.

SarahJ, also welcome to OTT. It appers to me that the bearings in that wheel hub are destroyed, probably from lack of lubrication. You can buy new bearings, races (ring that the bearings ride in), and a new outside seal. You may want to check the other side also because they are usually done at the same time. The parts are available from your friendly Kubota dealer and also from many bearing supply stores. Be sure to pack the bearings properly with bearing grease. The other side will need the have the parts cleaned and the bearings packed accordingly and you should be as good as new. Good Luck!

My thanks to both of you!

Bulldog, I will definitely check out Tag Equipment. I'm actually closer to Soddy so that's not far at all.

pat331, I think you're probably right. I'll have to get the wheel off and see what's what I guess. Such fun with 100+ degree heat index....

I'm getting better at this mechanical stuff :p

Hi SarahJ,

The guys at Tag treat their customers like family. They have always went above and beyond to help me out and still continue to do so. I ordered some parts from them yesterday and you couldn't ask for a better group to deal with. Ken is the owner of the dealership (first Kubota dealer in the US) and Eric who is one of his sons handles the parts. They will treat you right.Their # is 423-265-0475, I would just start out and ask for Eric.

You should consider changing your settings to recieve private messages.

SarahJ,

Sounds like you have an excellent dealer close by. Let us know if you tackle the job yourself or if you have the dealer fix you tractor. And most of all, please let us know what the problem was.

We are also have 100 degree heat and that is a race I don't care to win!
