Mike, you are correct, no slow blow in the 12 automotive industry. Fusible links are commonplace. Get a 30 amp resettable circuit breaker. Then when it trips you have to reset.
Yes there is it's just called a different name, time delayed fuse.
Several fuse makers have them. ;)

There are time delay fuses,like the one in my dvom,but in all my life i havent seen one in a car or light truck.

Not something you could easily source compared to a fuse link.

Actually ,not true-i had a few in a truck a few years ago. Lit them with a match to make a huge mess out of a beaver dam. ***128540;
