Roundup is a contact herbicide and shouldn't hurt the germination if you wait a couple weeks. It should say on the label or you could google it.

Im a little late to the party here, but I have seen guys use a couple of goats to gobble that stuff up pretty quick when there was no mower to be had. Chain them to a heavy block or old truck and make sure they have water within reach and they will do the work for you.
