Can anyone ID this cotter pin from my BX?

I believe this chis cotter pin belongs on my BX 1880. Can anyone ID it?

Do you have a loader? If so, check the loader stand legs where the would pin to the boom.

Perhaps a mower deck mounting bracket if you have one of those as well.

I don’t remember all of them, but I believe as DD mentioned above, check the loader frame / stand. I don’t remember but does BX have pins/locations on the 3 pt linkage? Many tractors have that. Then also the solid bar for trailer hitch off the back can also have a cotter pin. I am not sure it helps but those are three places I can think to check.

Could be the retaining pin for the KConnect pin if you have a KConnect device on the machine.

I think if that is from your tractor, sooner suspect an attachment instead of the tractor itself.

Looks pretty heavy and pretty mangled…..

Nope, the ROPS pins and hair pin retainers are held on with steel cables so they don't get lost. It is possible to break the steel cable, but not very likely. What is pictured in the 1st post is technically a hairpin hitch clip.

My BX1880 does not have any pins like that. I would think that it is unique to your hitch.

If you have a push mower look at the height adjustments on the front wheels and see if it goes there. It looks like it was retaining a pin that is about the size that goes through a mower wheel so 3/8 to 1/2 inch diameter pin is what I would be looking for

Hard to tell how big it is, but if it's a small one, and you have telescoping stabilizers, could be the keeper for the pin from one of the stabilizers. They tend to get caught on stuff and bent so they fall out easy. I keep a supply of spares on the tractor.

What's worse than finding a keeper like that on the floor is finding one of the lift pins on the box blade backed nearly out of it's hole and the lynch pin missing. Dunno how it stayed on the tractor. Pretty sure I buried that lynch pin Saturday when I was digging up a sweetgum stump and filling the hole back up.

When I see I'm missing one, I go have a cursory look around, knowing the chances are pretty slim I'll ever see it again (until I find it with the lawn/brush mower). Then, I found all my spare lynch pins were too big for the lift pin on the box blade. Not any more. Fixed both lift pins on the drill press and put some of my newest lynch pins in that are a lot harder to spring open.

I can’t tell how large or small it is in photo. Where was it found?

I found a small one on my tractor floor board once. I searched and couldn’t find where it went. Two weeks later my seat was lopsided. It went in the end of the pin the seat rotates forward on. Luckily, I remembered where I had put it. I bent it so it couldn’t work loose again.

My B7500 HSD-R has two small pins like this under the floor deck on the right side. One is for the throttle linkage and the other is for the foot pedal. They are both small and metric. The throttle pin is 1.2mm diameter and the foot pedal is slightly larger.

There is also a pin locking the adjusting nut for your front axle oscillation pin. You can see it by looking at the front axle from the front of the tractor.
