My 2008 L4240 with cab seems to ride, as my grandpa used to say, "like an old cob." The suspension in the rear end of this tractor is practically non-existent, but for the seat adjustment mechanism. Is there any way to adjust or modify the rear mounting fixtures for the cabin that attach to the rear axle area? My rear tires are loaded about 60%, and carry about 50 psi.

That because there is no suspension in the rear, it's solid mounted.
and your not riding on the cab mounts, your seat is attached to the differential / transmission.
Get an air ride seat! ;)

Is that what the tire pressure is supposed to be at? I'm new to compacts, but that seems way high to me.

I think your rear tire pressure is a little high. From what I have read, you should be in the 20-30psi range.

carry about 50 psi.
I didn't even catch this till others here have mentioned it.
WOW 50 PSI
You're lucky it hasn't just popped off the rim, or worse yet busted the belts in the tire (which might have happened)!

Depending on which exact tire you have it should be in the 12PSI to 26PSI max range!

So yea with the tires pumped up to rock hardness it gotta ride super rough!

18-20 psi is plenty for rear tires on a tractor. More than that the tires bulge too much and you have less foot print contacting the ground. Plus your ride is rough as you have found out.

They'll take 70psi....Seen this happen. But within a minute or so, just enough time for the guy to walk back to the toolbox to put up the air chuck and tire gauge, it blew....and let me tell you, he was lucky he wasn't any closer. The shockwave was felt 1/4 mile away-and I say this because the business down the road from where I was working called to make sure we were alright after they heard the big boom. It actually blew off of the bottom side and sent a 270 lb tire/rim assembly to the ceiling beam, which is 13' 8" from the floor. The rim left a little ding in the red iron beam. I was just getting back in from lunch, just pulled into the parking lot and FELT the concussion.

Those tires shouldn't be more than 25 psi. Most guys I know run them 15-20 depending on how they want it to ride and which tires they have. 50? No wonder it rides poorly.

Thanks for all the responses re tire pressure in the rear tires on my L4240. Kubota manual says between 20 and 25 psi, so have no idea why the guy I bought it from had them pumped up so much.

Have reduced the pressure, and it does make a big difference!

Still concerned about the suspension components, though, and haven't had a chance to compare to new ones on the lot. Will attach a pic of one of the rear mounts. Can anyone tell me whether this would appear to be properly assembled, and whether it can be adjusted in any way?

Thanks, again, for your input.

Yes they are assembled right and have no adjustments to them. ;)

Those mounts provide no suspension benefit as they are not suspension components; they just isolate vibration. They serve no benefit when it comes to softening ride quality.
