Hey guys brand new to the forum. I'm going to buy a compact tractor and I believe Kubota is the best bet for a newbie such as myself BUT I'm big and the cabs on the LX and L Grande seem very small and cramped I can't even see my controls off to the sides of my seat do to the width of my body. Any suggestions or know of any other brands that might have a wider cab. Any and all suggestions welcome fat jokes included. Thanks to all.

Deuce,

Welcome to the forum - as to your question, not sure there is an easy answer to this. Obviously the larger machines WILL have a larger cab around them. Add in your state I understand WHY you want a cab! ;)

Personally I am a fan of simple…my MX is not a large machine (open station) but it doesn’t have many controls. I have rear remotes but without that, it would just have one lever on the RHS for 3pt up and down and and very contrasted / different control for the PTO (knob)…so for me I can feel and know the controls easily…should not have to look….likewise the loader control is pretty easy to tell what that is…and then there is the 4WD assist lever by left foot…basically all the controls except the rear remotes are very distinguishable…really no need to look…a little seat time and you can do with your eyes closed….my point really MX doesn’t have all the features / controls. As far as the cab, only you know what fits you right….as the names implies ‘compact’ tractor. Maybe set in an MX…might have fewer controls.

Take a look at the MX cabs. I've only been in one, but it seemed pretty large. I'm not small at over 6 ft and over 200 lbs.

I have the Grand Cab and it has room to spare. The only downside, the seat is designed for a lightweight.

When you go to check them out, wear or bring your Winter parka !!!! Also your Winter boots !!!!
All cabs are comfy in the Summer heat.........

I’m not sure I’m understanding. Isn’t the point that you don’t have to wear your heavy clothes and boots in Winter? :D

I have a LX2610 with a cab and I usually plow/blow snow in my PJ's. I have a coat behind the seat just in case. As for the room in the cab I am 6 foot 200 pounds and the cab is not roomy but I do have room to move around.

I’m with Bmyers the Gl cab is spacious. Up charge for the air ride seat. I don’t know about the MX but if you need bigger you’ll probably have to go to the M series, some of which include a buddy seat.

Good luck and welcome to OTT.
