Set the rear blade to have an offset, so it will push the snow further off the side of the driveway. If you don't do this early in the season the snow pile will freeze and you will have a problem with the driveway getting narrower as the snow season gets longer. When I plow, I like to push the banks back about 2' after the driveway or road is cleared. You can't do this until the ground freezes unless you raise your blade a couple of inches. This is why I use the snowblower as much as I can, but there are times when a blade is the only way to move the snow. Wet snow is a prime example of when a blower sucks and a blade performers well.

I usually set the rear blade to 45 degrees. Also have my loader on to push back snow after I finish plowing. This new blade coming in, plan on shortening the that hitch rod a little as that will help push back snow instead of using the loader. Allot of options with these smaller tractors. Just have to get the right attachment. Owned it 2 years and have 7 attachments already.
I don't think anybody can tell you what their financial stability is. If they are running paycheck to paycheck, like a lot of small companies, it won't take much to put them under. That's happened to a few lately. But if they are well managed (meaning not up to their eyeballs in debt), they are probably a safe bet.
As for getting, "ripped off", I'm not aware that other companies that went under lately were deliberately ripping people off. Just poorly managed, AFAIK. That bites the buyer, but I don't think it's fair to put it in the same category as a rip off. That term implies willful fraud.
