I am changing the oil in my reduction gearbox on the bx2822a front snowblower. It looks like the drain holes while close to bottom are on the sides. How do you drain all the oil as some will sit at bottom. Seems odd not on bottom like auger gearbox. What do I do

On my last blower I used a Mityvac to get out what I could. Now I just top it off with 90w and don't worry about it.
Mine isn't the same blower as yours but when I change oil [every spring ] the blower is off the tractor so I tip it up and over so the drain plug is straight down . Reason for spring time drain is after season use this way if any moisture in the oil will be drained out . I also repair any issues that need before summer storage this way come winter it's ready to go.

I didn’t look at your parts diagram, but a bottom plug on the gearbox could be very well disguised….
Another option, if on the side, is to flush with a little fresh gear oil.

Put a hunk of 6"x6" wood under the opposite corner that you are draining from. That should level out the gearbox so it should fully drain. Of course, your snowblower must not be attached to the tractor.
