hey guys, need some clarification. I need to replace the skid shoes and the cutting edge on my BX2816 its a 2017, I currently have the poly shoes and edge on them or maybe I don't? when I look up the option # of BX2817 whic is the kit, I get two results a hard plastic option, which seems to be ridiculously expensive and the there is a BX2817 (TIVAR CUTTING EDGE & SKID SHOES) option which is somewhat better priced. Is the Tivar option the "NEW" version of the kit that I can put on my blower? Or am I stuck with the hard plastic option, they look exactly the same.. TIA for the help!!!!

Did you look up TIVAR? Its a UHMW polyethylene - e.g. hard plastic.

my question is yes, I understand TIVAR is "hard plastic"... and the description of the other listing says they are made from hard plastic also. so I don't understand the difference in the two listings. What makes the one "worth" so much more. I didn't know if the TIVAR version replaced the original one, and thats why its cheaper because its readily available and not obsolete.

OR maybe it makes no difference I don't know

Seems to me that would be a question for Messicks.

looking at the 2 links, I'll assume the skids are the same, made of UHMW with the trade name of TIVAR. The 'kit' is about $75 more, probably as it is a kit, everything in one package ? Of so,it's a lot cheaper to just buy the 3 parts you need.
