It’s ok. I’ve had it for 2 seasons, just never used much and decided to do maintenance. It’s been working great. I’ve just never had to look at the couplet connection til now. I took the coupler off the snowblower and put it on the K connect to see if would engage completely, it doesn’t. The other pics show it in the blower. One when it’s first connected. The other after it’s been running, and u can see in that pic it is engaged a little more. Those 2 pieces don't belong together unless one is mounted on the snowblower, and the other is mounted on the K Connect. This is getting close to epidemic mode with K Connects and snowblowers. Is the coupling on the snowblower have its key and bolt in place? From your pictures, it appears that the coupling on the K Connect has come loose when you disengaged the snowblower for service. You need to go to the Messicks website and look up the parts diagrams for both your K Connect Drive System (BX2811) and for the snowblower BX2816. The pictures will tell you what goes where, and how it is held together. Do not use the snowblower until it is properly repaired.
I talked to the dealer this am, apparently this spacing is normal. He is going to chat with Kubota to confirm, but we looked at diagrams, thinking the input shaft was protruding too much on the tractor side, but it isnt. It’s ok. This is what I would expect to see.I have a spare that I tried on my K Connect hitch, and it fits tighter than yours in your picture. Sorry for the blurry picture, but it was the best that I could get holding the camera in one hand, and the coupling on with the other hand. As you can see in the picture it appears to be a tighter fit than yours. On mine, the two mating surfaces touched, and there was about 1/4" opening in the "ears" of the coupling. View attachment 91720
