First time out with my new 2816. All going well until I tried to work a large pile left by the road plow. I am guessing it was a bit frozen and I was probably too aggressive. Anyway, the fan turns fine but both augers are just free spinning. I assume I have broken both shear bolts on the shaft that drives the augers but I just wanted to see if that makes sense. Anything I should be aware of before I head to the dealer for new pins (I think I will buy 4, not 2).

Just go to a hardware store and but a handful of 5/16' x 2 1/4" course grade 5 bolts with lock washers and nuts or just lock nuts.
Yes that's what Kubota specs for those shear bolts.

Just make certain to get grade 5 bolts at the hardware store as suggested above. If you use bolts that are too strong, things much more expensive than the bolts will break instead.

I have that same snowblower, and yes, they are a grade 5 bolt, with a relief cut into the bolt. Below are the pictures from Messicks dot com. Last year I serviced a snowblower that used the same shear bolt, and the owner had put the lock washer under the head, which tool the shear cuts out of the correct location on the shaft. That bolt was bent but not broken, and it wasn't easy trying to hammer it out. Using the wrong shear bolt can cost you a front gearbox. Here is the thread and the pictures. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/snowblower-shear-pins.60495/
