BX2680 engine speed not constant

when i engage the pto the rpm's reduce from 2500-3000 to 1500 without moving the throttle lever. i have to hold the throttle lever to keep rpm's constant.

any suggestions?

Has your throttle lever become easier to move? The nut at the bottom of your throttle lever is likely loose. Take the battery cover off and tighten it.

Does the engine speed back up to what it was when you disengage PTO?

Most of us drop the RPM down to about the lowest point....engage the pto and then ramp it back up to cutting speed.

Maybe on the new machines, the pto engagement drops the rpm and then goes back to "normal?" but that would be a new one on me.

If you are engaging the pto and the engine speed DROPS.....and does NOT come BACK up......something is wrong and you need to see your dealer!
