BX25D/BX23S Swivel Seat problems

Hey mates, I've got a BX25D with one serious and one annoying issue with the swivel seat.

1. The seat "pops out" on the right side pin where the latch is that releases it to lift up and swivel around. Has anyone had this issue? I can't pin point the problem..it seems like the whole mechanism has loosened up everywhere and allowing too much play for the pin to pop out.

2. There is a little sliding pin that locks the seat in the upper midway position between backhoe and front loader. I've seen most videos online where people simply push the seat one way or the other and this acts as a "notch" to temporarily hold the seat up. However mine "locks" the seat there and I have to manually push the sliding mechanism up to allow the pin the slide forwards or backwards successfully.

Any ideas?

On my BX23S had #2 problem this summer. A good cleaning and spraying some red Rustcheck(liquidy waxy oil ) solved that . Reminds me I need to spray the BH pivots under the cover today....

Assuming I understand your problem correctly, check to see if the 4 white plastic spacers on the swivel plate have fallen out. Two of mine did, and that allowed the swivel plate to sit lower on one side, causing the latch not to engage. The part I'm referring to is #K2591-56670 seat spacer. Hope this helps.

Great tip mate, I'm going to go and have a look now. Perhaps this is it. Sounds like my issue as one side tends to not 'pop out' and sits better. I've got a video of the problem I posted on a facebook group, but it's a Kubota Australia group and won't let you access unless you're a group member. This forum doesn't seem to allow videos?

In your video (thanks for posting it) something looks odd at the two front corners to me. The far side is outside the frame and the nearside is inside the frame. That just looks like both should be on the same side (inside or outside).

But I have no idea how it is really su to be, it just looked odd and like it could be the reason it can come apart.

Thanks for your idea. I think this is how it's designed. I'll go have a look. I think you remove a Cotter pin and slide the whole mechanism sideways to remove/replace. That's how it's designed..

Is the spring (250) broken or missing or not attached properly (under tension)?

Is part 240 swiveling freely? Otherwise maybe add a drop of oil on each pivot point.

Thanks for your idea. I think this is how it's designed. I'll go have a look. I think you remove a Cotter pin and slide the whole mechanism sideways to remove/replace. That's how it's designed..

You are correct about removing the whole mechanism. However, I highly recommend removing the seat first, then if necessary you can remove the support mechanism. The reason being that entire assembly weighs a ton! If you accidently drop it or let one side slip, you could easily puncture the fuel tank. Also, it is extremely difficult to realign the two pins by yourself when you want to re-install the mechanism. I had to get my wife to help. Much easier to remove the seat first- just 4 easily accessed nuts at the four corners. That removes about a third of the weight.

That is how it is supposed to look. The entire support/swivel mechanism is attached to the mounting brackets by two 1/4 inch pins about 1 1/2 inches long. You line the pins up with the holes in the bracket on the left side, then slide everything to the right. A clip holds it in place ( I believe they call the clip a snap pin).
