Good point.A note of caution when using chains. The rolling circumference of the tires is changed when using chains You probably will want to be sure not to use 4wd on hard surfaces as there will be extra stress on the drive train. You probably will not experience any problems on soft surfaces, ice, snow, mud, or soft packed dirt. However, you may want to take it out of 4wd when on any pavement, whether you have chains on or not.
I always take my tractor out of 4WD when making tight turns out in a bare roadway.
It's stiff without chains and seems more so with them.
