After mowing for about 2 hours our BX24 started to loose power dramatically especially when under load going up a hill.marginally better in low range but couldn't make it.started the next morning with no problems. I changed both fuel filters and Bush hoged for 5 hours with a repeat of symptoms. Proceeded to change all hydraulic fluid and filters.cleaned screen filter.bush hoged for 3 hours without problem. Same problem 2 days later after 20 minutes, so I rewired the compromised fuel pump wiring. Ran for 10 minutes yesterday and today with repeat problem. Im getting some foaming in the system and have a perminant leak at the rear axle seal due to a dealer fix not approved by Kubota when the tractor had 15 hours on it, now has 681. Instead of replacing a bad seal they drilled into the axle housing and threaded screws to hold old one in place. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Make sure the strainer at the fuel tank out let is not clogged, restricting fuel flow. Check the air filter for clogging. After that look for a loose switch connection that might cause the fuel solenoid toshut off the fuel intermittently.

I'll second the tank - something is in there restricting flow!

My Bx2350 has sest safety switches, doubt that would make it lose power. It would just cut in and out. Mine did until I bypassed the switch.....and never let anyone else operate it because of that

Thanks for the ideas. I have checked the flow at the pump with the key on and also just flowing out of the tank before the first filter,it's not much more than a trickle either way. Should there be considerable force with the pump on? I'm going to try blowing air back up the line into the tank to dislodge any blockage.if that doesn't work I'll be disassembling the back of the tractor and removing the tank.if anyone has a simpler way I would really appreciate it. Thanks again

when you "blow" back the there......be very careful - don't throw an air nozzle in there and give it a squeeze!!!! Open the tank cap or loosen it a bit, set your regulator to as low as it goes, like 5 psi, that will move whatever is in there.

Little shot of air and then recheck - should flow a good steady stream, could be an algae clod or something worse, like you did before - check flow from tank then throw filter, then through pump - pump it not going to squirt it across the room, but will have a little zip in it!

Report back with your findings!;):)

This post and others of similar issues with fuel are why I traded mine in for a regular gasoline powered mower. The basic fuel design for the BX sure has faults. I've never had these kind fuel problems with other tractors I have had through the years.
