So I have been researching and pricing BX23s's for the last couple of weeks and will be buying in the next day or two. I have 3 dealerships within 40 miles of my house and they have all quoted me a price of $23,500 for the tractor with the QA bucket and 3 point hitch kit. They have all told me that Kubota had one price increase earlier this year and will be having a 4% price increase on Friday April 1st. My question is how does this price compare to other parts of the country? Also, this will be a cash sale and I was wandering if I should get the KTAC insurance?

I purchased it with my bx2680 because I financed it but glad I did hearing some of the stories on here. Since you're paying cash that's a hard call. They do more than most insurance companies and I would probably lean towards it. Not much help I know!

From what I had heard the KTAC insurance provides good coverage, but I believe it is pricy. I did NOT use it on my three Kubota purchases. $23,500. sounds about right. Being you are getting the SSQA bucket, which is a GOOD decision, tell them to throw in adjustable front pallet forks for that same money, as they usually use Land Pride. If looking at saving some $, you can delete the 3-pt kit, ONLY if NOT planning on using a 3-pt point attachment. However, I would suggest NOT. Should you delete it now and decide you want it later, will cost more. Not sure what that kit is valued at. I did NOT get it with my BX23S as I already had one for my BX1870, which is boxed up not being use, but I wouldn't get rid of it. I purchased my BX23S strictly for the FEL & BH, which have never been off yet. I mow with the BX1870.

You will find good information on your BX in this forum.

I paid $19,500 for mine 2 years ago at a small local dealership.
The big farther away dealership wanted at least a thousand more.
Good luck OP, have fun, it's worth it.

I got mind fall/winter last year. I think it was 22,500 with pin on bucket, 60” deck, cutting edge, and thumb. I regret not getting the three point hitch even though I haven’thad a need for it. I went with my home owners insurance vs. Kubota insurance. A lot cheaper and seems to be about the same. Kubota prob is better but I don’t plan on destroying mine. ;)

OP, can't help you on price but regarding insurance, you can't beat the coverage of KTAC. You just need to decide on insurance if you ever intend on taking your machine off of your property. Most homeowners won't cover that and you'd need an "inland marine" type policy. KTAC covers you anywhere and for anything short of damages resulting from an act of war.

I have also heard about the price increase going into effect on Friday as well. An "April Fools" act? Likely not.

And agree with others, get the three point hitch as well. If given the choice, opt out of the loader "quick connect" hydraulic coupler.

Best of luck.

3 pt hitch is just a little add on kit. A little intimidating to install at first if your an accountant, after that its cake.

Price is similar to here in Ontario, after exchange. I've got 710 hrs on my 3 year old unit. Have never opened the 3PH kit box as BH is still on it. pallet forks are GREAT, even better if they'll toss them in !
Also get them to toss in the 50Hr , 1st service. It's really the most important one to do on time, properly.
Be sure to check the front axle oil level (yello plug top, left of axle) and ALL Zerks....NO paint, lots of grease.

The R4s on my BX23s are only 4 ply, 700# tires, be interesting to see the specs for the r14s.
A tougher/bigger load capacity tire would be nice. wonder if they're better (tougher) on blacktop too ?

I got a cash quote from november for the bx23 s with thumb and Trygg ice chains (around $500) for 27000 canadian. So approx 21600 usd. I would not be afraid and in fact did make offers lower than the quote I ended up with a B 2301 but the original quote was 34,200 I offered 33000 and the dealer came back at 33500. so ended up saving 700.00 this was in December.

I have the R4 tires and they seem to work fine. I'm on mainly flat ground but did plow my neighbors fairly steep gravel drive in forward and reverse no problems.
Last summer back filled some really heavy sloppy mud/dirt back into a huge septic hole.. I was really happy with the performance of them at that time!

I think most on here would prefer the R14 if the price difference isn't too bad.

I had the R4's on my old BX2370 and R14's on my LX2610. The R4's both front tires had to be warrantied due to sidewall budges(one tire was budging before delivery). The R14's in my opinion the R14's have better traction in mud/snow. Also notice the R14's do not seem to squat as much as the R4's, but those tires were different sizes. I live in a hilly, snowy, muddy, and windy area. As for the KTAC insurance that's is a no brain in my opinion as it covers the tractor for about everything(falls off trailer) and you do not have to worry if on neighbor's property and something happens.

Well the dealer went down to 23,200 and added the R14 tires and bolt on cutting edge for the bucket so I purchased it. Will be calling KTAC this morning for a quote. I also added a 3rd function valve and Land Pride SGC0554 grapple since I live in hurricane central and the increase in tornado activity in our area. After hurricane Ida, grapples were not available in this area for months. FYI, the R14 tires are 6ply. Thanks to everyone for the great information and looking forward to all the knowledge going forward. Will take delivery next week and I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas.

Congrats,

Do yourself a favor and download operators manuals for the tractor, loader and backhoe. That should help pass a little time...;)

Quick check looks like the operators manual and workshop manual are available for free download here:

see if you can find operators manual for the hoe and loader on the kubota books site as well.

You'll be glad you got the grapple, I don't have one but sure wish I would have gotten that third function for that reason.

You're gunna have some fun now!

Oh yeah.. the key is not to let your wife see how much fun you are having!

Congratulations we also live in an area with many nor easters and the grapple has been a great help in the short time I have it. many large trees have gone down since January. The grapple gets twice as much work done in half the time. and you missed the 4 % price increase.

Make sure that they get you the Landpride 3rd function valve since it is more functional than the Kubota valve, with is a diverter type. Also, have them put one male and one female connector on the valve itself, so you always know that the pushbuttons will always do the same thing when you push them. The wimpy little electrical switch that Kubota uses costs a king's ransom to replace, and based on other reports on the forums, you will be buying one soon after delivery. That is one more reason to buy LandPride 3rd function. Everything about the Landpride 3rd function is better quality!

depending on use, installing the dual rear remote option might be better than any of the 3rd function units.

This is good to know.. I wish I had thought about it when purchasing, I would have had them throw it on then. Not something I have to have but sure could think of some uses for it!
