I can't state it any other way:
Greenvillejay said that he needs to subtract the weight of the SSQA Adapter, to get the loader lift value.
The loader lift valve is already stated no subtracting is required!
And we're back full circle......

You're only addressing part of his statement, not the whole statement.
If you read and use the ENTIRE statement, it changes the meaning.

He is COMPARING TWO loader lift values. Not stating one.
The pertinent sentence is in bold italics.

yes, while the SSQA bucket weighs less, you need to SUBTRACT the weight of the SSQA adapter from the 'what will the loader lift' value..... THAT is the number that guys whine about when saying SSAQ can't lift as much as pinon.
He's not saying the loader lift value is X minus the SSQA adapter.
He's saying if you subtract the SSQA adapter weight from loader A's lift value, you get the lift value for loader B.

OK, let's go round the block again :) while I'm waiting for Mr. Sun to appear...

Please consider the following...

A 'BX23S' has a loader lift capacity of 700# +-
the pinon bucket weighs 70# +-
the SSQA bucket weight 60# +-
the SSQA frame weighs 100# +-
a pinon BX23S can have a payload of.. 700-70 = 630 pounds +-
a SSQA BX23s can have a payload of .. 700-60-100 = 540 pounds +-

It's the SSQA frame weight that lowers the PAYLOAD capacity of the SSQA version of the BX23S
Yes, I didn't use the real numbers, but close enough to show my train of thought as the manual is in the seat of my BX23S.

John T, consider adding a thumb grapple to your existing bucket. I have The Thumb made by Greens-Machine on my B2920 and it is extremely useful. The best part is I always have it to use when I have the bucket on. It’s also light weight compared to a regular grapple attachment.

Thats exactly what I did.
but I went with the Artillian single grapple. It's built like a tank... very happy with the construction.

It's designed for their rock bucket which has a square top rail.... mine has a round tube... so I had to do a little fab on my bucket.... just a top bracket for the top 2 bolts.... EZ-PZ

actually getting ready to go out there now and weld it up.

It will be removable, But I'll prolly keep it on there.

Just a note to consider: If the cylinder is not at full extension when the grapple is closed, you can bend the bucket, I had that problems in one of my designs of grapples.

Pretty good match.... close enough.
