I wish I'd have posted this earlier, supposed to get my new tractor today. Purchased it 2 weeks & 3 days ago. Seems like a long time to wait for an in stock item, but anyway...

What do I need to look for? Tell me about some issues that you noticed after your tractor was delivered, especially for a new-be like me. I'm also getting the 60" MMM, Rear tine 'tiller and a road grater.

This will be a learning experience, I'd like it to be a good one.

Thanks

Congratulations on your new purchase.
Im not 100% sure but I believe that whomever delivers it goes through the operating procedures with you when it arrives. As far as what to look for, I cant think of anything except read the operation manual, ride and enjoy and be safe.

I recently got a bx23s. So far so good. I recommend checking all your fluid levels. My deck came with a wrong metal grass chute piece that they had to later switch out. I got the bagger so maybe it wouldn’t matter without the bagger. Make sure you have the guy demo how to remove the loader and backhoe. There are videos on YouTube but maybe rake your own video.

Check the oil levels, especially the front axle. Many reports of those delivered too low, mine included.

Got my tractor today. No owners manual and missing parts for 3 point hitch.

The MMM & FEL worked great. Pulled the backhoe off to use the Grater, but missing parts for hitch. So couldn’t use it or the tiller.

I guess I need to pull up some YouTube videos and find the manual online to check necessary fluids.

Oh, and the engine was covered in dirt.

Is this brand new, or just new to you? I think you should have gotten them to agree to clean a new machine before delivery, but thats just me. Because on a purchase from a dealer, I would have assumed it would be cleaned before you took possession no matter where you took possession/delivery.

My dealer forgot the keys, 3 point, and manual. You are not alone. They dropped it all off a few hours later, and the tech left me key he had. So now I have 3 keys. Not that I ever removed the key that is in it.

This was brand new, had 2 hrs on it. When I popped the hood, he said “oh, I told them to clean the engine. “

Perhaps? Mine had zero hours when delivered. To me, zero hours is brand new.

2 hours at purchase is lightly used.

A new BX has .1 to .3 hours while still in the crate. By the time it is set up, pre-delivered, loader installed and tested, backhoe installed and tested, deck installed and test, unit delivered it could certainly have 2.0 hours on the meter.
