BX23's are NOT for mud gripe!

Not sure what Kubota was thinking with the BX23, but, its def not for the mud, at least my mud. it just seems to wrap around the tire until it is so caked in the fender wells, you can not even shift high to low. 1st year I had if, it froze the tractor solid in the winter. Spent 4 hours with 2 torpedo heaters outside and s shovel picking away at it, to free it up to drive.

After that lesson, I was doing pretty good, until I got in more mud than I thought and didnt keep up with the caking. Well, here we go again!! At least it is not freezing out ......yet :/

I think I need to order a case of PAM cooking oil or something!?

I have a simple solution, don"t play in the mud!

R1 tires will eventually do the same thing. Dozer tracks will do the same thing. Answer, don't fill tires with mud and for sure don't let them freeze.

My BX has turf tires and I use chains on mud with no problems. Get a pressure washer to clean it up before putting it away.

Nope- a BX is not a good choice for mud.

There’s very little ground clearance and wheel/fender clearance on a BX.

In addition to the tires getting caked up there’s a vulnerable HST filter down there.

I’ve replaced one filter that was dented up pretty good. Break that filter off and you could be looking at thousands of dollars in repairs. Don’t recall specifics, but was thinking it may have been due to snow/ice?

I’d suggest letting things dry up or get a tractor with much more clearances.

At the very least, get a skid plate for the BX tractor if you don’t have one.

Kubota was thinking that the owner would know the limitations of their machine, and work within those limits. No matter what they design, or how, someone will think that Kubota doesn't know what they're doing.

heck, I've seen full sized TLB stuck in mud, and a 20t dozer ( that wasn't 'fun' digging out as we'd kinda 'borrowed' it from down the road......)

Google a business called Specialty Repairs Mods. They sell a nice filter guard and other handy items that may appeal to your circumstance. High quality pieces. Good luck.

Why would you go into the mud? It’s not a ATV. Must have not read the fine print in the back of the manual. States in tiny letters, “ STAY THE F@#K OUT OF THE MUD!

My Weimaraners always tucked their asses into the woods to take a dump. Then never dumped on the lawn. Now this 10 month Yorkie dumps either in the house or on the lawn. Small dogs are next to impossible to housebreak until they are about 3 years old.

My L sucks in the mud too.

On the "+ side" I am getting damn good at removing stuck tractors.

Even rolled the tire off the rim on this go around.

No rolled tire on this one, but lots of shovelin.

yeah, welcome to 'the club' ! I found a 'bog hole' ,sucked the tractor down to the floorpan. Used my other tractor and a big long chain to drag the BX23S out.

Avoid the mud when you can. If your situation makes working in the mud necessary, at least take 15 minutes and clean the dang thing a little afterward. Leaving it sit with mud or whatever caked all over isn't doing the tires or the mechanical stuff any favors.
