bx2380 towing with draw bar

Hi All,

I was wondering if I could use a draw bar with a ball mount for just very infrequent moving of a camper around my property. The draw bar I have just connects to the arms so I'm not sure on this one. I uploaded a pic for reference. I wasn't sure if adding this would be necessary or not. Thanks in advance.

Have the very same setup except I have several size balls on it, I do it all the time to move trailers around the farm.

The beauty is you can raise and lower use the 3 point to the height you need.

I back up to trailer lift and never mess with the jack stand move the trailer and sit it down.

I will lock it to the ball if moving far or over some uneven drop so the tongue does not slip off the ball.

The only problem with a 3 point lift on a trailer or other device is that the weight of the device will carry the arms UP ON THE 3 point if you are going up a hill or the tongue weight is too light.

For example - you are pulling up a trailer that was wood on it and you are heading up a small hill ......
the weight of the wood on the trailer IF NOT loaded correctly will allow the tongue to raise up, carrying the 3 point arms with it........ seen it happen many times!!!!

BUT IF On flat ground ....... moving is easy - JUST give yourself a LOT OF ROOM to stop !!!!!

I move a 14' double axle trailer all the time..... and up a slight hill...... my front tires sometimes skim the ground as the weight of the empty trailer pulls down on the 3 point..... my speed however is about 1/2 the speed of smell!!!!!!!! SLOW as mud drying!

Ah, so I will need to buy something like this then if I want to use my existing draw bar?

notabun note where the right (term)? adjustable support arm attaches to the top lift arm. The fork is facing the wrong way. This will bind and needs to be turned the other direction. EDIT...On second thought it looks fine I guess I just need more coffee!

The drawbar lock should be perfect! Didnt know they were that cheap. So I would attach 1 end to the drawbar and the other end to the top arm?

EDIT: so this only prevents the draw bar from spinning but it doesn't attach to the top arm? Would that still be enough for towing with the draw bar?

Yes, it keeps the drawbar from spinning. Attaches to the side arm of the 3 pt. The drawbar and the side arms are what's doing the towing.
