Hey Guys, this is my first post in here. This is my first tractor and currently am trying to park it in an area of my garage that forces me to tilt the bucket completely down and rest it on my steps. Does anyone have any suggestions about issues this could cause to the bucket or any better ideas? Ideally I would not like it resting on the step but I think I read leaving the bucket elevated could cause problems.

Not sure if it would cause any issue. Can you park it perpendicular to the way it is now?where the Mower deck is?

Welcome to OTT!

That’s fine, and better than leaving it elevated. Leaving it up is not only hard on the seals of the loader, but is a serious safety issue.

Guessing with the shoes on the bucket you’re using it for snow?

If you are worried about it, put something under each side of the bucket lip (on the floor) that is slightly higher than the step. Forces will be equal and you will have nothing to worry about...

Or maybe Just under the right side of the bucket, in equal height to the step, as I guess you have little space to spare.

I too would prefer not to have the bucket rest only on one end...not sure if it is a concern, but balanced forces are always better.

Following Henro’s thought....even a 2x4 or 2x6 box or stool would keep it off the step and even it out. Just make it to fit between the shoes....e.g. 30” wide x 4 or 5” tall.

Thank you guys for all the quick responses. I do plan on using it for snow removal. I think I will go the route of building a box or even try moving stuff around to move it to the other wall. Won’t have a shed/garage until next year so I will try and play around with the most effective spot for getting it in and out with both cars in the garage.

Maybe 2 options..
1) swap deck/stuff for tractor position and vice versa??
2) put bucket in front of mower deck, tractor's now shorter

The loader won't be outside, just the bucket. The bucket will be fine outside, its just a hunk of metal.

I think you should always lower hydraulically supported equipment for safety reasons. If they are up and there was a seal or hose blow out the weight falling can damage what is below.
