A 5' blade is the right width for a BX tractor. A smaller blade set at an angle will be narrower than the tractor. A larger blade will be too much for grading with a BX. The weight of the blade is also important. A light weight blade (150#) will work for snow removal, but will bounce across the ground if used for grading. A 250# rear blade works good on my BX2370, and the manual says you can go to 350# for a rear blade. However a 350# rear blade may be difficult to control with the simple hydraulic system on the BX tractors.

As stated above 5' is perfect. I have 1 for snow and works good, covers your tracks when angled. its a Landpride RB0560, their lighter duty model.

Have the 1560 from Landpride and it works great behind the BX25D, it is medium duty version.

What my point was. Most companies market a 5' blade one for a subcompact (shorter moldboard) the theory is that shorter moldboard grabs less material than the standard height. By rights grabbing too much material could when the blade is angled could swing the front of the tractor around.

Woods actually has an RBC60 9.7" moldboard RBS60 12" moldboard.
