Tried using a grass sweeper on lawn today to clear excess grass that was getting too tall since last cutting before rain week before. So after going in circles a few times engine started to sound weird to me. Recorded video here to show engine running. https://youtu.be/ynmStXIgHb4

Kept it running at 3000 RPMs to keep running. By second run in circles to drop off sounded worse and to set idle usually slow to 1500 RpMs to run idle. Engine shut off on me. Got running made 3 time around and engine ran far worse so ran back to drop off point and engine would drop 500 RPMs like the engine was being slowed by had but it was slowing self down. Got to drop point and slowly down hill to watch it it went from 3000 RPMs down on own to 1500 RPMs so real quick shut off engine. Blew installed horn for help from family. Air filter real clean. Screen no crud on it. Some weird foam on top of screen filter. Found something had ripped up foam from cover when took cover off to look at fuel filters.
which looks brown. Looked under tractor.
and it also looked to be brown. I was wondering what silver thing was thinking it was another fuel filter. I was wrong. Read the WSM off kubotabooks.com and thinking what it seemed wrong with setup to change filters. Squeezed fuel lines and feel wrong to second filter to engine. So here is my guess and my question. Could it be the fuel filters are clogged up and preventing fuel to engine? Should the fuel lines feel easy to squeeze or hard to squeeze? How do you change line from tank to first fuel filter? WSM says filter last 500 hours but change fuel lines every 2 years. Battery has APR 15 printed on it and I got tractor in May 2015. Fuel filters are original that came on it. I buy fuel a mile from house and always add cetane additive and algaecide to kill water bacteria. Plus i used a Mr. Filter to make sure water is not fuel that goes into tractor. So i wonder overall if it could be just the fuel filters and fuel line is wore out even though i just have 90 hours on tractor. Had ran tiller just last week fine in garden to plant fall mustard. Could water still show up in fuel still?

What you are describing is fuel starvation.
You have two filters, both the same, one before the "silver" thing(yes that is fuel pump) and one after - the one BEFORE the pump gets dirty verrrrrry quickly and easily.

That filter looks dirty - but that is very hard to tell due to light or lack of light looking through the plastic filter housing.

Get a pair of locking needle nose pliers, place some soft rubber around them, like 2 inches of rubber fuel line, pinch the hell out of the fuel line, BEFORE the first filter. Change filter - change other one too while there (both filters will cost about 15 bucks total)

Now, after everything is changed and needle nose released. TURN key to the "glow" position for 30 seconds. You should hear "ticking" - turn to start - let it run a bit. IF it does not fire, repeat.

Now - if this does NOT fix the problem - you might have something "floating" in the tank and causing a restriction in the fuel line.

Change those filters and report back;):)

Should i change the fuel line as well going from first filter changed to pump to next filter then to engine. It does not seem very hard to pinch with just fingers alone. Or should i just change just the filters for now.

Unless the fuel line is split or collapsed, I would see no need to replaced it. ;)

When you take the first filter off, tap it firmly on something hard and "look" at what comes out, you might need to cut it in half...... you will be surprised at what you find!;):)

The second filter very rarely get much crud in it,, the first on like the man said YUCKKKKKK . And please do not muck about with the pump ( the silver thing). NOW if after you install the filters she is still doing this,, you may have something in the tank that blocking the outflow,, and you might be surprised what people have found in the tanks , everything from grass to June bugs to mice to pieces of rust. Let us know how it all comes out

I had a similar problem and found restricted flow from tank to first filter. I blew compressed air back through fuel line into tank and then drained about 1 pint of fuel + crud. The crud was dirt and some pieces of rust, which may have been from corroding float/level assembly. Anyway, I replaced both fuel fiters, and all has been well for about 60 hrs.

Got time to change filters and fuel line was spongy feeling.
and cost of line was expensive. Next time i get it at local auto parts store. Tried to use fuel pump to drain to red diesel can. No pressure or fuel come out. After getting the first filter off i took little red diesel can and drained 5 gallons of fuel from tank to new unused diesel can. Flew out to can fast. Added a bunch of biocide and diesel sti bil to remix with fuel. Used Mr Funnel to filter from red can to yellow can. It is red as diesel only comes in yellow 5 gallon sized. But i marked can with yellow tape when new. Changed first fuel filter to pump. Green fuel. Fuel pump to new line Red fuel.... ran line to filter #2. Kinda red as well. Changed filter out and changed last fuel line to engine. Took out bolt carefully. Had helper tell me when fuel blew out of hole while ran air out to bleed old fuel. Put bolt back in bleed valve. Filled up tank with filtered fuel again with Mr Funnel to full. Started engine as told to use glow plugs and fire. Ran crappy a few seconds like going to die again. Turned up throttle to 3500 rpm to let run. Sounded then like brand new engine. Took first old filter to barn to meet my little sledge hammer.
. Not too bad looking. Jt looked like sludge. Then busted it open to see this.
. And filter looked like this.
. So thinking since fuel sensor said I was totally out of fuel must be rust from it and fuel pump. Bottom of cans have sludge in them but now i have 12.5 gallons of cans empty. Spoke with family and will be buying fuel out of town as local diesel pumps might have a chance of gas and sludge in them from when station sold 87, 89, and 93 gas and could only pump out 89 and 93 gas to put diesel in i guess the 89 tank. Station suggested is up on a hill out of water table and sells a lot of diesel fuel for trucks and cars.
so here was fuel filters and line after removing from tractor and destroying first fuel filter. Might buy red diesel as other option by stations with tanks above ground marked off road diesel use only.
