The place ioik it is a Kubota dealership. I love my money, but I have taken things apart before and then not been able to put it back together correctly. They explained what they were going to do to it, and gave me the hi and low estimates. One was 1 k provided the seals in the back went in and stayed in. The other was the 2k that would be if it didn't happen the way they wanted or expected. I did call a few days after we talked and the guy said that they had to pull it apart to fix it and it was very labor intensive.
I think the guys are fair over there, especially when I didn't buy it from them. Thanks for the advice, though. Kpost

OK, for those who wanted to see to parts list used to fix my machine. I removed the dealership information because I don't want to cause any trouble for them. So here it is. I hope that you can read this. Kpost

So, the leak was not " leaking fluid from the back behind the wheel" as you stated. Your leak was actually ahead of the wheel and was the pintel shaft seal in the hydrostat pump/motor assembly on the front of the transmission. That's quite a different repair.

Don't be so picky! So we went from a leaking deck (?) to a hydrostat pump/motor assembly! Big deal! It should all cost the same, right?

Right. ;)

This is one of the fun things about forums. People give incomplete info about their problem, others jump to conclusions and start giving advice before asking questions, and it all swirls down the drain into a mess of confusion.

Sorry about the bad information . It was leaking from the front of the tractor and the rear by the back wheels.
It has 1411 hours on it. I bought it from some guys that have a lawn mowing business and have to turn over their equipment every so many years, a tax thing. When they saw the leak they took off 1 k. The guy traveled 45 miles to my house to bring me the owners manual.
