Hi. First post to the forum but have been reading, learning and enjoying for awhile.
I have a BX2350 from my Mom and sadly, it never had any of the "recall" stuff done. I am going to replace the dash soon and am wondering when I do, will the engine hours be accurate or zero? I can't read the hours now but guess no more than 300. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. The LCD for the hour meter and tachometer is completely black until the sun shines on it for about an hour with the outside temperature ABOVE 50 degrees. I read online (can't remember where) that there is a recall on that issue. My Kubota dealer says they have never heard of such a recall. Replacement dash is pretty spendy for our fixed income. I'm just waiting for Spring and a few more bucks so I can get it.

On 2nd question, YES the hour meter will revert back to zero. I was thinking of pulling the fuse for the fuel pump and turning on the key and let the clock get set right. Will take SEVERAL days for that to happen. Otherwise I would make note of the hours when changed in my service records.

Changing out the dash will not be hard, it just pops out by pushing on the back of it.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Is my understanding that the recall expired 48 months from the date of purchase. Still need to replace some broken plastic body panels as well as the seat.

Thank you kindly mickeyd. Any idea who the BX2350 gurus are here? I am sure more questions will follow. Especially regarding the factory seat...The one that makes you feel like you are sliding off it.

Hello,

I too have the same problem with the dash on my BX2350 that I recently purchased. I have taken the dash apart and I believe that just the LCD display chip needs to be replaced. However I can't find p/n on it. I sent an email to the Dash mfg. but no reply yet. All of the info (hours...) should be stored on the main controller PIC chip. I have found other LCD displays but I am not sure if the original has one or two lines in the display, anyone know what it looks like when it is working?

Thanks,
John

Well, I FINALLY got a response from Kubota on my dash module. Because I was NOT notified of the recall on the dash, they will replace it at no cost to me if I can get the tractor to the dealer. Now I just need to find someone with a trailer large enough to haul it. Even though the warrantee period has expired, I think this is GREAT customer service ! !

My bx2350 seat sucks also. Have to use the seatbelts just so I don't slide out. Been thinking of buying a new one from. Northern tool or somewhere.

Yet ANOTHER update ! ! Kubota dealer called me today and asked if I would be at home tomorrow. When I said yes, he said that he ill be in my area tomorrow and if it was OK he would like to stop by and "WORKS FOR ME". As I suspected, they DO NOT need to hook up their computer to it for a proper install. It is just R&R.

Looks like sometimes it DOES pay to put some fire under the feet of the head guys at Corporate.

Yesterday Kubota dealer came HERE to replace the dash module on my BX. When I tried to arrange for it to go to dealer, they said it would cost $2 a loaded mile for them to haul it (48 miles each way). I can't afford that. I said I would try to borrow or arrange for a trailer myself. About 2 hours later they called me to see if I would be home yesterday. I said "YES". They asked if it was OK to come here to replace it? Again, I said "YES". They showed up about 10:00 yesterday morning and had it done in about 10 minutes. Then they asked how many hours were on it. I said "400.7 the last time I was able to see it". They said because I was NOT notified of the recall, they would also include a 400 hour service kit at NO CHARGE ! ! What a deal ! ! ! All filters, engine oil, hydraulic oil, and antifreeze FOR FREE ! ! !

Here is a picture of the OLD dash with the hour meter / tach in the lower center of the dash.

And here is the new dash, working like a charm.

I call this GREAT customer service. :D
