Here is the dumb question du jour... My BX23 4-WD has a fill plug on both left & Right front axel case. There is only one dip stick for checking the fluid level. I assume this is because filling either side will cause the 90w gear oil to disperse into both sides and equalize?? (Thanks for the advice... I'm only a hack mechanic).

If its the same as the BX23S then the dipstick is the fill plug, and yes the front axle is all the same reservoir. You have 2 bolts near the tires down low that you take out to drain all the oil from each side. Replace those bolts, then just pour your oil back in at the dipstick and keep checking it.

Thanks so much! I appreciate the reassurance. This is a great forum!
I tried to find the documentation for the bx23 but could only find bx23s. Looked at BX25 manual and it is the same front axle set up as the BX23S, so I assume they are very much the same. Here is a screenshot of the front axle oil documentation form the BX25 manual. Also Im including a video that shows a guy replacing the front axle oil of his BX23S from start to finish. One thing I didnt mention are the top bolts up above the drain plugs, which are breather ports. Wouldnt hurt to remove those as well when you are draining the oil and refilling, then put them back It will help the oil drain better by allowing airflow. Also make sure youre on a level surface that is important.

I believe Kubota ships their tractors with UDT or SUDT in the front axles. You may not want to mix regular gear oil with what is in there, unless you know for sure it is gear oil and not UDT or SUDT.

Just a thought...
