Right in the middle of moving logs in the hot sun when the tractor won't start. Yes, it's in neutral but that's about all I would know to check besides the switch under the seat. Sometimes during a ride the engine would sputter like I was getting off the seat but then continue running like nothing was wrong. Could anyone offer suggestions on what to check in the engine? I'd really need to finish my work but I'd like to thank all suggestions !

PTO levers and HST pedal position are others that will cause no start.

And when you say no start...
Are you saying it's not even cranking?
Or are you saying it's cranking but not firing?

I should have said, when I turn key there is NO response, no clicking, no instruments...as far as I can tell all safety switches are ok

OK now that sounds like a battery connection issue.
Check both sides of both cables.
Remove clean and reinstall.

So here's what has happened. I looked at the fuses, then at the (key switch? directly behind key switch on dash)) and wiggled it as I turned the key and it started. So it will be running for the remainder of day, I'll replace ignition switch.
