BX2230 Steering.

Hey guys i've got a BX2230 and its not playing the game. when i am in hi gear and its got a lot of play in the steering. not in the rods have checked all the bolts and the other bits. thinking its something in the hydraulic sides of it.... any thoughts that i can try.

More than likely it's your cylinder piston seal leaking internally. Take the cylinder off the tractor and disconnect the lines running to it. Take a rubber tipped blowgun and apply pressure to one of the fittings on the cylinder. If you have air/oil leaking out of side opposite of the one you're applying air to, it's leaking and needs a cylinder seal kit.

It's the cylinder under the front, where the shafts from the tie rods go into. Real common problem on the bx's. the seals shrink and let the oil pressure go from side to side without moveing the steering shafts. Kubota has the kits for them. Being an automotive transmission tech, I was able to dig through all my extra seals and find 2 that fit the center piece perfectly. Unfoutuantly, I don't know what they came out of.

thanks guys yeah i check the tyre pressures regularly and its not likely that i'm thinking the cylinder would be a good start will talk to the local Kubota dealer and get the parts.
