Bx2230 Diesel, first snow 36”. I got the tractor running, snow blower attachment (front mount) turned on, used the equipment for about 3 hours. Tractor sat over night, cold and snowy in the barn. I go to use it today, I use the glow plug and it fires up, throttles up and down, is not running sporadically. I put it in turtle and it immediately stalls, putting it back in neutral and it’ll restart no problem, I tried the front pto ( and rear) and I get the same result, it stalls. I’m no mechanic, this is the first tractor I’ve owned so I need help..

Thanks

Brandon - I’m betting you have a safety switch problem. Thinking maybe the switch for the seat, since it starts and runs but doesn’t allow for movement or PTO to run....the tractor doesn’t think anyone is in the seat.

Go to Kubotabooks.com and look for a Workshop Manual (WSM) for your BX2230.

The price is right, and you can send him a few $$ in appreciation.

Seat switches don’t like the cold and down coats. Let it and the seat warm up and try again. Shift your weight around and make sure you are sitting back in the seat. Someone with that model can tell you where it is. The problem is often solved by adding an additional pad between the cushion and the frame. On mine a piece of styrofoam under the Velcro cushion serves to activate the switch.

their part number K1122-62280 I’ve found them for 9 bucks apiece. I’ll put my LP heater on and thaw the machine out before i replace them. Thank you for the suggestions

Shucks... I checked both

Index of Kubotabooks/Tractor Owners Manuals/
and

Kubota Tractor User Manuals Download | ManualsLib

didn't see a WSM for the BX2230 machine.

The BX**30 series is an older version of the **50, 60, 70 and 80. Since your not building a rocket, just diagnosing a seat switch, maybe a **50 or **60 WSM will work. Conversely, an older BX2200 might work for a seat switch.

Also, if in USA you can see illustrated parts diagrams for your tractor, with part #'s, can be found here:

Kubota Tractor Corporation - Illustrated Parts List (kubotausa.com)

Agree to legal, put in your BX2230 model #.

I had a somewhat similar problem only mine would cut out and restart. I took the connector under the seat apart, cleaned it and put a dab of dielectric grease on it before putting it back together. Problem gone. I did the same thing with ALL connections after that.

So that was the problem the seat safety switch. I took it out hit it with a heat gun on low and water trickled out. I was able to use it to get the driveway done, then I ordered two new switches locally.
Thanks for the help guys.
